It's good to bounce off someone else.

I rather think that it could be that when Tribesman applied it was the policy they only had to wait 2 years before applying for the PR.

Now perhaps an applicant's visa would reflect the 5 year waiting period.

I'm with you though. I think Tribesman is best off to ask direct and hopefully then get back to tell us.

Sorry Tribesman. We're not a lot of help are we.

When we activate oue visa in Feb.2012 i will need to spend 184 days of each of the 2 years in NZ thats the conditions. but i think i can spend 6 months of any of the 2 years and enter NZ just before the 2 years are up before it runs out and then apply for variations of travel for another 12 months but i dont know exactly how this works yet. for instance do i have to spend 6 months of 3 year in NZ and then apply for permanent residency at end of third year

Then it sounds like the other in which case providing you do not want to travel after the 2 year deadline you can sit out the extra days and then apply for PRv which is what we did

Janeyk : So how long would i have to wait to get PR if i done 6 months in one of the 2 years. Could i apply for it after the end of the third year and do i have to just do 6 months without leaving the country. Not sure about this.
