Parent Sponsorship Total Nightmare Rant
We are currently awaiting our application for PR on parent sponsorship to be processed, it is a long story and has been a bit of a nightmare! When we first applied we were advised 9 to 12 months to get a case officer, this was then extended to 12 to 18 months. At the 12 month point we had a letter from NZIS to say it would now be 18months to allocation.
Then enter Feb earthquake and we are on hold again - fast forward to October... By default, ringing NZIS on another visa matter, we discovered we had been allocated a case officer 3 months ago, but have had absolutely no contact, that was despite calls for updates.
Now, finally we have had a message and we are required to submit a new wage slip for our sponsor, here is the major snag - at present we are supporting our family while son has been studying, he will then, for the next few months, be a house husband whilst his wife works.
We are completely independent, own our property out right in N.Z and have a guaranteed government pension - is there a way out of this that anyone can advise. Oh our CO is now on leave until the 8 January.
P. S. Sorry this is so long!!

sorry can't help but my husband has found popping into the local immigration office and speaking to an advisor really helpful, maybe a bit late as not sure when the offices shut for Christmas

hi Sorry if this is not a reply to the question asked but we are waiting for a parent visa and our daughter who is sponsoring us rang the immigration agency in aucklamd and they told her that the waiting time is now between 2-3 years. Has anybody got any more info on this.
