Default Parent Migration

Consider a parent has 5 children, with about 3 in the US, 2 in the UK, is widowed, and fully depended on the one child in UK with a recently granted NZ PR less than a year old and still living in the UK.

Is there any particular family dependent visa that can be applied for to get the parent an NZ PR? How much time would it take to get this visa. Even it is something of the sort that is an intermediate bridging visa just to live in NZ with the child the parent is dependent on?

Is this a question and answer test set by you ? Or is this pertinent to your personal circumstances.
It seems to me, from your other posts, that you are able to answer this question for yourself.

For your reference

and here

Out of interest , why is the parent dependant. There are many widowed parents out there who are independent. My dear old Dad was one. Also, this parent has other offspring living in the UK who could help, if the current child that the parent is living with is set on leaving the parent to live in New Zealand.

If the parent in question is disabled, then standard of health would be an issue.

Waiting times to be allocated a case officer for the parent sponsorship visa are around 18/24 months from time of application.
The sponsor should have held NZ PR for 3 years prior to that.
The number of places is capped.
We have parents on this board who have done the hard yards and waited years to join their children and grandchildren. This is a visa which requires patience .

The centre of gravity of the family is between the US and UK, nowhere near NZ. Living in the UK with NZ PR means nothing and wouldn't alter the centre of gravity much in any case. Assuming the UK child with PR took up PR, then you would probably struggle to show dependence, esp with the state benefits/pension in the UK.

AFAIK NZ doesn't "do" intermediate bridging visas as they are typically targetted by those who intend to overstay....

What does "about 3 in the US" mean? Whereabouts unknown?

Is that so?

About 3 means 2 humans and one alien living in the US.
