OK this is it...
So we decided to use a resident advisor based in Wellington (it's far too complicated getting it all done by ourselves from here!) and after getting all our paperwork sorted (not an easily accomplished feat in Egypt what with all the red tape  ) our RA is lodging our EOI on the 26th :fingerscrossed: she said she will know by the 29th if we've been selected or not, this is it for us folks! :fingerscrossed: This is the moment of truth for us

Re: OK this is it...
Yup. All the best :fingerscrossed:
Can you get her to lodge it a day earlier ? Selections take place every other Wednesday. Next selection being the 26th. How many points do you have ? |
Re: OK this is it...
Thanks Angela, Jim and Bevs! :)
Bevs, here's what our RA wrote: I’m nearly finished with your EOI and so far it is looking very promising. I had to wait till 12/8/09 because there were changes made to the application form As soon as I am finished I will let you know where we stand. I will be lodging the EOI, if we have enough points which I am confident we will have, on 26 August 2009. This is the day the next selection will take place from the EOI pool. I will know within 3 days after this date, which will be 29 August 2009 whether you have been selected or not. Approximately 3 – 4 weeks after you have been selected we will receive a formal letter from Immigration telling us that you have been selected and they will start doing all their authentication checks and verifying all the information that was lodged on the EOI application. We should be hearing back from them as to whether you will get an invitation to formally apply for your pr round about end September or middle October 2009. |

Bevs, here's what our RA wrote: OH says we have 105 points without a job offer. While our RA's email sounds positive I'm too much of a pessimist to let myself get too hopeful! :o If we get refused I think I'm going to be devastated  It goes into the EOI pot along with all the others. You never know , it might get drawn out straight away or it might not , in which case it will stay in the pool to wait for the next selection in two weeks time. It can stay in the pool for up to six months I think. As you know the EOIs with 140 points get drawn from the pool automatically. Any other EOIs in the pool are selected according to certain criteria. i.e. Skills on the absolute shortage list Job offers etc. :fingerscrossed: that your EOI is selelcted at its frist draw. If not , then :fingerscrossed: that it is selected very soon. |
Re: OK this is it...
Hi Kija
Hope you get selected soon:fingerscrossed: Do you have a login for the NZIS website? Maybe ask your advisor. You can then look it up yourself as to whether you have been selected. I found out I'd been selected less than 12hours after submitting mine by looking at my login. I presumed from this that it is updated very quickly [I couldn't be bothered to wake up and check it at 1am;)] so it shouldn't take 3days to find out whether you've been lucky;) Best of luck Sue :D |

It wouldn't be just refused. It doesn't work like that.

Haven't been on in a while and using one of those tiny laptops so expect many typos Great info, thanks again Bevs! As much as I'd love to be there right now, there are a few things keeping us here, so hopefully, if we get selected, we have time to deal with those things before having to leave. It's pretty complicated. Let's see how it goes :fingerscrossed: thanks to everyone who wished us well! |
