Occupation Registration - Nursing/Midwifery

Hi all

Can you help? I am working my way through the online EOI and at the mo getting 155 points  as a registered midwife.

When you fill in details on your skilled occupation it asks if your occupation requires registration which it does. So I am (at the same time ) trawling through all the paperwork to get myself registered with the NZ Midwifery Council.

QUESTION is does anyone know if I can submit my EOI and just indicate that it is being applied for or ..... do I have to wait which means delaying submission of my EOI for a couple of months ?????

My theory being that the EOI is just the provisional bit and as long as i get agreement of registration from the NZ council when filling in an ITA that should be acceptable ......

Can anyone help .......... many thanks for your input

Re: Occupation Registration - Nursing/Midwifery

I got all my paperwork from the nursing council in order before EOI as it took a couple of months in total to get all the stuff from them. They did say that it can take up to 3 months. I did it this way hoping that we would get ITA fairly quick after acceptance of EOI and since you have 4 months to submit the ITA then felt it was best to have it ready incase of hold ups. You need to have originals or certified copies of registration documents for NCNZ to put in with the ITA documentation.

Thanks Phyl - yes i guess it makes sense to wait and I had forgotten you get 4 months from EOI being granted to getting your ITA lodged so you don't really want to be hanging around and waiting.

I guess I am being impatient and will have to get in practice for the kiwi more laid back approach ............ !!!!!!

Thanks for your advice and good luck to you
