Occupation on New Zealand shortage list

Hi,

We have family (cousins) in New Zeland and thinking of the possibility of moving there.

However, there again we don't get the full 140 points but our occupation is on Immediate Skill Shortage List of New Zeland. I was searching the site but couldnt find the advantages of having your occupation on this list of New Zealand.

Also would appreciate your experiences of submitting EOI at less than 140 points.

Thanks

Mari

It doesn't matter if you don't get the full 140 points. Have a look at the previous months EOI pools. Some months they're taking people with as little 105 points. If you have an occupation on the shortage list or a relevant qualification, there's a pretty good chance you'll be accepted. Check out the NZ immigration website and you'll see how they have classified previous EOI pools.
