I believe you would need to get your qualifications assessed by NZQA and I am not sure if Pakistan is a comparable market so not sure if you can use the experience. Hopefully someone will come along with clearer answers but in the mean time head over to the Immigration site and see what you can find out. Immigration New Zealand | Official Government website

It's not a matter of whether you are eligible from what you've written, it depends on how many points you have. Have a look through the link MrsF has supplied.
You need to check whether your qualifications are on the List of recognised qualifications. If not then you will need to get them assessed by NZQA.
Also have a look at the Skills Shortage List to see whether your occupation is in shortage. Most IT jobs seem to be.
As for work experience, it can be recognised if not in a Comparable Labour Market but the following applies:
Area of absolute skills shortage refers to the Long Term list only.
Bear in mind that even if you get enough points to submit an EOI/application then it does not necessarily guarantee success. Many need a job offer to succeed-all depends on the individual and the points makeup and total.

If you do not have a skilled job or job offer in New Zealand, any work experience you claim points for must have been in a comparable labour market.
We may award points for work experience in countries that are not 'comparable labour markets', but only if you were working:
for a multinational commercial entity domiciled in one of these listed countries, or
in an area of absolute skill shortage.

Hi Zubair,
As per my knowledge ACS and NZQA are not related with each other. It is not necessary if you get recognized in ACS you will also get recognition in NZQA.
I have been successfully assessed by ACS back in 2009 for ICT Security specialist but later when I went for NZQA they even not given any name to my qualification which was (B.A + PGD computer information Systems + MCS). So I was not eligible to claim point for my work experience in Long Term Skill Shortage List after successfully picked from pool and my EOI lapsed. It cost me (EOI fee + PAR Fee + NZQA Fee)
If you think your points are good and you will be pick from EOI pool, then my suggestion is go for NZQA first, If you get a Name and Level for your qualification (as mentioned in Column 4 of LTSSL) then you can go for EOI submission and other things, In other case you will not able to move further and it will cost you only NZQA fee.

HI Ahmed,
As I am also from IT field and applying for IQA next month , I will say you need 3 years or 4 years Bachelors degree and your IQA result should be with specified degree name and Level as listed in LTSL 3rd Column else you will not be able to get bonus points.
