NZ immigration timeline

Hi,

Apologies if this question has been asked before.
I will be applying to emigrate, from the UK to NZ, under a partnership visa as my girlfrind of five years is a Kiwi.

Can anyone tell me if there is a set time period to move once an application has been passed?

My reason for asking is because I would like to do some travelling before arriving in NZ.

I think its 6 months from the date on the visa sticker (so when its issued)
