Does anyone have a contact number for NZ immigration in London that doesn't cost £1p/min?
The 01344 number that has been posted in a few places no longer exists/sounds like it's now a fax number. (01344 716 199)

and
does anyone know if you need to get police clearance for countries you've lived in previously when applying for a work visa. (lived in SA for 18 years and UK for 16.

try this number 01245 454448, it by passes the charge but still links you through to the same connection so you will get the message saying you will be charged but you dont.

As for police clearance not sure on WV but my husband was born in another country other than UK, left before he was 6mths and still got asked to provide police clearance. He did manage to get it waived with a solicitors letter to confirm he was still a baby on leaving. That was requested during our ITA process but he did already have a working visa in place so assume he didn't need it for that.
But I'm sure someone will come along and give a definitive answer for you soon.

The form only asks you for last 10yrs IIRC???
