newbie on the nz forum needs help
 
hi we have been on the aus forum for some time now but because of the removal of pathway d started to look at other options so can someone tell me if oh was offered job in nz what would happen next???:confused: ( eg visas and timelines, can you just go on work permit and then arrange pr etc)

i know im asking alot but i know absolutely zip about immigration and nz.

What sort of work does Danny do? If his work experience and qualifications are on the immediate or long term skill shortage lists he should have no problems in coming here and getting a job offer. If that looks like a goer he could apply for a temporary work permit and you both are off to the races.

So, yes, you can most certainly apply for PR while you are here on a temporary work permit. As far as timelines go, *shrug* getting the work permit is fast, anything from a couple of hours if your ducks are all in a row or perhaps it may take several weeks if you need to do a bit of document and evidence sourcing.

As far as how long it takes to get PR it will pay to be patient. There are a lot of variables involved and each case should be looked at on its own merits.
