Need advice about visa type
Hello, I just need a bit of advice about what type of visa I can apply for. I’m a registered nurse who specialises in theatres. I got offered a post in Auckland yesterday, and I said at the interview I’m initially looking for working there for 12 months, and because of other commitments I can’t move until the end of next year (November time). Because I will be 30 next year, I don’t fit the criteria for a working holiday visa, so I don’t know which visa I will be eligible to apply for. Any advice will be appreciated

With a job offer from a DHB (District Health Board) they usually insist the overseas candidate goes down the route of a temporary work visa - i.e. Essential Skills or Talent/Accredited Employer or Work To Residence. You may also meet the points threshold for Skilled Migrant Resident Visa but not much point going through all that if you don't intend to stay as it is a permanent class visa, however it would be beneficial once you realize NZ is just awesome and you want to stay.....or leave temporarily and return.

Check the working holiday visa again, it's 18-30 on application, you then get a year to enter and start your visa, I applied just before 31 and entered just before 32. Pick the 23 month visa and after 6 odd months apply for something long term if you wanted (cos you're capped at 12 months working max and your contract would have to state that too). This was a few years back mind so confirm that
