Migration Agents
Hi again,
Does anyone know of any migration agents who specialise in education? No one seems to know the answers to my questions  1) Can I apply down the primary teacher route (I have 3 years p/t experience) and 3 years as a Learning Support teacher in main stream schools teaching Literacy. 2) Will having a masters give a better salary than having a BA (Hons) and PGCE? So think I will have to go down this route. Thanks |
Re: Migration Agents
Here is a list of authorised residence advisors, perhaps you can find more info there?

Then when you have your NZQA rating you need to apply to the teacher's council to get registration to teach in NZ - they may be able to tell you if you can apply as a primary teacher. I would have thought you can apply down the primary teacher route but not sure if you need to have worked a certain number of hours in that profession recently (I know you do for Oz, where we looked at first) Thetb might be able to help you out on that one, as his wife is a primary teacher. I would certainly get the ball rolling yourself with the NZQA first as agents can be pricey. Good luck:fingerscrossed: P.S. am a secondary teacher myself! |

these friendly people are usually there at the various immigration Expos in the UK in Manchester or London. <search> is your friend :) |
Re: Migration Agents
Thanks everyone - think I will finish MA (should be in June - awarded July) and then I can apply for my teacher registration and take it from there.
Lardyl - I did email the people on that site about a week ago, but they only sent me what looked like a standard response saying who they were and the procedures already on their site. Didn't answer my questions at all - but may be they can't. Thanks again, really appreciate you getting back to me. I suppose I've waited this long a little longer isn't going to make much difference. It just seems that the closer we are to going the more impatient I am to get everything done:p Will be driving my OH mad I'm sure. |
