Have one now at the cost of 20 pounds mind, but worth it, they had to pull out all of his old paper files as it was so long ago, it was not on the computer system, lol.

Re: medicals done, now next hurdle.
Hi All,
We had our Medicals done this morning.
Have to wait now, 3 weeks, Doc on Holiday, for the paper work to be checked over and for the extra blood tests results before the overall results are returned.
My BMI 32, Wife upset at 41, but both of us had the extra tests to do. Lucky we hadn't eaten so we could have test done without having to return.
How does these BMI results effect us now? Do we have to reduce them even if the blood test results are OK?
Oh, no one mentioned about the Hernia Check. (Drop and cough)
NZQA finally done Quals check. No email to let me know outcome. Looks like a wait for Courier now.
Next, Police Certificates.
I read on another thread regarding time period for SMC for allocation off CO and approval. Does NZIS keep your Passport for that long? What if you need them during that period?
well until the next thrilling installment...........
Ian.

Think my GP would laugh me out of surgery if I asked for a report on op done when I was 7!!! (def no spring chick now!!) The op is on my computer record tho (once, no prob since)...got the whole print out from GP to prepare for medical.... amazing the stuff I'd forgotten when I told ME about the things I thought he needed to know he just shrugged shoulders and said 'but everything's ok now?' and wrote 'no' on form ....some benefits to being an 'older chick' and a nurse I guess! he seemed to be more interested in wether I did venepuncture!
Will be interesting (Challenging!!) to see if I get referred!!!

Re: medicals done, now next hurdle.
Hi celticnight, my BMI at medical was 36.1 and cholesterol came back as 5.8. I was main applicant and got refused on medical grounds MA said they would reassess when BMI less than 35. Cholesterol test was wrong I'm sure as I rechecked it 3 weeks later and it was only 3.9 and porridge ain't that bloomin good!!! I got BMI down to 33.1, resubmitted and got PR. Don't know if your wife will be pulled up about it but I suspect she will be. They do seem to be fairly strict. They work on the assumption that BMI over 35 means higher chance of various diseases and the possibility that the cost to NZ healh service will be significant (however healthy you actually are). I really suggest that your wife tries to lose some weight and prepares for the possibility that they might refuse her. It isn't really a huge amount to lose that would would put her under 35. Believe me if I can lose some anyone can . I hope you get a good result but its not the end of the world if t isn't-it just delays everything a bit. Good luck Bevissa
I think it highly likely that your wife's BMI will be pulled given what we have read from others re. BMI . She needs to start getting that BMI down as of now.

Re: medicals done, now next hurdle.
Good luck everyone with the medicals and enjoy that porridge
Celticknight - if you don't want to send in your passports with your ITA then you can send in a certified copy instead. That's what I did as I needed mine and they never queried it. Cost me 2pd [using Mr Sue's NZ computer with no pound sign] from a solicitor. I think you can also request your passport back if you need it before they process your application as well.

Hi All,
We have been eating Porridge for months, both of us have been losing weight, but very slowly. The other incentive, for every 1/2 stone lost she gets a new pair of shoes. Me, I get a another Diecast Land Rover Model for my collection.
(Well, I enjoy collecting them.......... The ones without a Hobby, those are the people to worry about )
Although I am 17stone but 6ft tall my BMI is below 35. Think Doc yesterday got his sums wrong. Could have cheated tho, we had to measure ourselves with tapemeasure. while he did the paperwork.
The Wife blames the Micro Pill for weight gain, a side effect apparently.
At least we may have a bit more time to loose those extra pounds when all the paper work is ready to submit.
The only problem I need to discuss with NZIS is not being able to get Photos and Passport info on my Daughters and my Parents. I am estranged from them. No longer on speaking terms, and definitely not wanting them to know about our plans for NZ. Can hear that BIG Spanner being taken out of the Toolbox already.
I'll get it sorted, trust me I'm an Engineer........
Technician........ Knows what to Hit.
Engineer........... Knows where to Hit.

I wondered about needing photos and passport info on your family as well. I can't see why that should suddenly become a requirement All I had to put down were their basic details-certainly not passport details and photos.

Re: medicals done, now next hurdle.
Hiya,
When filling out EOI I included my Daughters, although they will not becoming with us. Was not able to de-select the option when filling the form out. As mentioned previously, they are nearly 19 and have only seen them 3 times since they were 12. No chance of getting the info if it is required.
When I received ITA paperwork, there was a note to include their passport nos and photos also extra pages to include my parents and siblings info too.
There is just myself and OH submitting the paperwork to live the NZ dream.
so there is my latest headache. Think next hurdle should be set alight, make it more difficult to jump through..........

Maybe get in touch with NZIS about it then as I don't know what else you can do. If you don't include them in your ITA then they will only get back to you and request the details you've omitted. So if you ask now they may remove that requirement hopefully.

I'd ask on here if anyone else has had to do this recently. Maybe it is something new but I never heard of this before.
There isn't usually 'notes' with an ITA. You just get back what is virtually a copy of your EOI and you stick in the supporting docs to support that EOI.
Also, you should have been able to de-select on the EOI before you submitted.
I'd defo. contact NZIS about this. If you don't want them on this application in any way , then they should not be there.
