Exactly ! As I have stated. Yes!

Give me strength.

People that are not approved don't have 'hiccups'. They have incredible stress and upset.

YOU have made the terminology an issue here, instead of accepting , digesting and understanding. No idea why. You do seem to have issues with a fair few helpful answers though.

The difference between a visa and a permit + a category has already been explained ad infinitum. It is very clear. You choose to make it an issue , then it is yours to own.

I think the question has been answered here. I also feel the OP will not take on board some of good advice and info offered ,preferring to argue the case for whatever reason that is in their head which is a bit pointless to be honest. So the thread goes round in circles.

In this respect I am closing the thread.
The OP has their answer.

To apply within the country for a permit under the LTB category is perfectly possible whilst on a visitor visa.
If they apply within the country they will gain a temp work permit & then gain residency after 2 years or so.

With thanks to Ingstina for underpinning these thoughts and views.

It is a LTBV for application outside of NZ when issued.

A LTBP from within NZ when issued.

Sorry this pains you but that is how it is.

Oh. And. Bugger all to do with US terminology & variation of conditions.
