Liver test
 

Hi,

I got my liver test. All within the normal range except for ALT which is 62.

However in the medicals the doctor has specified my Liver function test as Normal.

They have done a discretionary test for Hepatitis C which is negative.

My concern is will NZIS will query about my ALT.

hiya

if the reading of 62 is within the NZ's guide limits then you shouldnt have a problem

Mine was 80 for GGT and the limits are 0-50 took a while as they had to refer to medical assesor but int he end they agreed it

my gamma gt was 95 - still is - and i got in no worries - interesting thing my doc asked if i drank a lot - whats a lot i asked - more than a bottle of wine a night she answered - so thats fine then i don't drink too much

Husbands GGT went through the roof and beyond two years ago . Scary beyond TBH. :ohmy: Alcohol drink said everyone. No, said we. Believed - we were not.

Husband did not really drink at all coz of sport but knocked it all on the head anyway. Result. GGT went UP!

So, husband went on a rugby weekend away and drank beer and result. GGT went down. :blink:

Since then, husband has gone back to what he has always done and the GGT has returned to normal. Our own thoughts are that it was a nasty virus that has since worked through the system.

Doctor - crap. Tests - inconclusive. Blurry nightmare TBH.

Me. I drink far more than sporty husband. GGT - normal. :p

What I will say is that when we had our medicals for NZIS , all our tests were within normal easily. We have been here 5 years.
