IT Jobs
Hey guys,
Just wondering if any of you could recommend any agencies that place IT professionals. We are planning on coming out to NZ in August and should have our PR Visa offer soon but still need to get a job. Also if anyone has any information regarding working as an administrator in NZ schools as I believe unlike here, the schools are run by boards and not councils.
All and any help or suggestions welcome

Re: IT Jobs
1. Check www.seek.co.NZ for jobs you like the sound of
2. Note the agencies with these jobs
3. Sent your CV to the agents with the best selection explaining your immigration status and your plans
4. When agent contacts you (they will if your CV merits it), be prepared to explain your immigration status and plans in detail (include as must detail as you like, they won't remember but you need to practise and memorise it)
5. They will explain that unless your skills are in high demand then they won't do anything until you're in New Zealand
6. Keep in regular contact with chosen agents and update them as your plan materialises
7. Arrive in New Zealand and visit your chosen agents, be prepared to tell them again of your plans again in detail
8. Attend interviews and mention your plans (you should be be quite good by now!)
9. Get job and thank agent for their support

Re: IT Jobs
Agree with all above, speak with agents rather than just email and when you arrive go and see them if you not fixed up. Skype is great for international calls and good luck with your job hunting , what is your area of expertise & are you thinking of Wellington or Auckland?
Some agencies with offices in both cities don't talk to each other as each market can be specialised.
Good luck

Re: IT Jobs
There are a couple and some are pretty strong on intent in terms of trying to find you a job (well, at least, how they come across to you).
seek NZ is a first place to seek jobs placing your details online (your pretty much on your own here).
For agencies, try:
- AbsoluteIT.co.nz (try this)
You need to be in NZ to heighten your chances of them taking you seriously or a VERY STRONG work/qualificiation profile to get you something if you are outside NZ.
Anything to help. And all the best.
