Which Job and Who Can Offer a Job
Hi Everyone,
I am in New Zealand on Silver Fern Job Search Visa and still struggling to find any skilled job to apply for Silver Fern Practical Experience. Can anyone clarify few confusions about the subjected issues:
1. Can I apply for Silver Fern Practical Experience based on the full time skilled job offer in any occupation ? Either it does not related to my previous studies and experience or I have to have job offer in my own area of expertise?
2. What is the criteria for employer who can offer me a role.
3. Can an employer who has started his business 6 months ago and has not started earning profit from his business offer a job and will the immigration department accept that offer ?
Thanks in advance

For the purpose of these instructions, skilled employment is employment which would be
assessed as skilled under the Skilled Migrant Category (SM7.10).

2. What is the criteria for employer who can offer me a role.
Also:
To be eligible for a Silver Fern Practical Experience visa, your job offer must also:
be current for at least 12 months
be for full-time employment
be genuine
be paid by salary or wages or in terms of a contract for service (not by commission or retainer)
meet the generic work visa instructions at W2.10 of the Operational Manual.
3. Can an employer who has started his business 6 months ago and has not started earning profit from his business offer a job and will the immigration department accept that offer ?
Silver Fern Practical Experience visas must be granted with the following conditions mposed by special direction:
i the holder may work in the occupation specified on their job offer;
ii the holder may work for the employer specified on their job offer;
iii the holder may work at the location specified on their job offer.

Re: Which Job and Who Can Offer a Job
Thanks Persephone,
but after your reply Some more questions in my head
What will be my right for switching the employer ?
While working with first employer if I got better opportunity with any other employer Can I switch my job ?
And can other employer hire me or will they consider me after knowing my status ?
Just to clarify the situation the role I am have been offered is for very lower skill level compare to my skills, But as I am running out of time at the moment I do not have any other option to accept.
What would be your advice in this scenario ?
BEVS I am also waiting for your reply.
If you have a job offer for at least 12m then I would say that it should be ok. The visa will specify that you can only work for that employer so if the business fails to expand and you lose your job then you would need to change visas.

Re: Which Job and Who Can Offer a Job
The Operational Manual does not have a lot of information under Silver Fern Visa about changing jobs or employer. It does say to follow instructions on generic work visas which say that to change you have to apply for variation of conditions.
I would assume that if your new job fits the description of skilled work etc then this should not be a problem but I would suggest you speak to NZIS about this and get a definite answer. If you don't have enough time then you'll have to take the job offered and take it from there but please confirm this first

But I don't reject the ideea to work in other areas such as fitness, constructions or sports. My purpose is to get SFV->PR. I really want to settle in NZ for good. And as any beginning/new start I don't expect to be easy but this is my dream and I'll do anything to accomplish it.
Regarding reply time and stuff, the only quick response and positive too was from volunteering area, 3 out of 5 responses.
Hope will all live the nz dream!
Cheers

Re: Which Job and Who Can Offer a Job
well mate, i assume its going to be a stuff one. im from malaysia and been approved with SFV Job Search. Did applied about 10 jobs from where i live but apparently its all been rejected even though you're applying for the right position, not sure if the hiring manager prefer you to be at NZ but the feedback from them ...usually the normal script "we find you interesting but other candidates more suitable for the role....bla bla bla"
now im bit skeptical whether should i land in auckland and stay there for a month and start applying for the job, since my current company allows me to do Work From Home, so i could just work from auckland till i secure a position in auckland.
my background: SAP Basis +6years exp

Were you successful enough to get a job in your profile. How is the market for IT jobs especially related to SAP . How long did it take for you to fetch the right job after landing in NZ.
Hope that by now you would have got ur PR
Thanks & Regards
