Job offer after visa application

Quick question, without a job offer I think (don't have paperwork to hand) we have 120 points, so enough for submission for an EOI. With a job offer, I think we are nearer 200. We have had a tenuous job offer but heard nothing since (presumably because we couldn't come over until next summer, so it's understandable).

If we get the ball rolling now and then a little way along the line, the job offer comes to fruition, can we then add the points in and speed it all up or is it a case of once its in, its in?

Cheers

yes you can, this is what we did. The job offer would have to come within the 6 months allocation time in the pool though or you would need to apply again

That's great; thanks for that MrsF. Just wondering what the six month time allocation time in the pool is.

Re: Job offer after visa application

your application can only sit in the pool for 6months and then it is removed. You then would have to reapply and repay. so if you are going to be putting in a EOI you really need to know that you will have enough points before the 6months is up, unless you are happy to repay if you do not obtain enough points.

The only applications that have been pulled from the pool this year without 140 points are those with a job offer and points over 100.

Thanks for the very thorough reply MrsF. That answers it very well. Looks like timing is everything then. Cheers.
