Default Job change

Sori, questions again...

Heard from hubby's ex-boss, the NZ immigration officer emails him and asks whether my hubby is still working for the co. fi, my hubby worked for the co till June this year and our ITA had been submitted in march though. I am thinking, do we need to inform them about the current move? a bit afraid the recent change may affect the application

Think it will depend upon whether or not hes still in the same type of jub (industry) as the one when he applied for PR. Email your case officer hopefully he can put your mind at rest.

You need to inform them about any change of circumstances, I'm pretty sure a change of job or employer means you should tell them.

Did you apply with a job offer?

Yes. You need to tell NZIS about any change.

Actually, we are applying offshore without job offer. We think job change is not much related to the application since it only counts the work experience before the submission of ITA, so it makes me feel weird that the IO asked this question to my hubby's ex-boss~

I'm confused.

Is your husband in New Zealand and working or are we talking about your husband's job in your current country or residence ?

If he has changed jobs in your country of residence then the NZIS officer may simply be looking to verify from an overseas employer exactly what your husband does for a living currently.

Hi BEVS,
Sori for the confustion, My hubby is not working in New Zealan, and we are not claiming any points of local job offer... so it's like we don't really sure the "purpose" of the officer for checking with his ex-boss, but if u say, it's sort of knowing how he can make a living here, then it becomes a bit more sensible. Anyhoo, thanks!

Ah ! They are checking that your husband is who he says he is and that he works at what he says he works at.

You may need to let NZIS know the new employers details and then NZIS can also speak with this person too. It;s all about NZIs ensuring that everything we say is truthful, whether we like that fact or not.
