ITA Query

I have just been looking through the 'Tips for lodging a skilled migrant applications'

and I am really confused.

I have claimed points on my EOI for experience in an area of absolute skills shortage.

I have my city and guilds 706/1 and 706/2 catering qualifications of which I gained whilst in the RAF and subsequently have over 10 years experience.

However, the form states:

"If you are claiming points for a City and Guilds qualification you must include evidence of Part One, Part Two and your apprenticeship which must be completed with a recognized industry body. If you do not have these three items you will need to have an assessment of your qualifications completed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority - www.nzqa.govt.nz - prior to lodging your application.

If you do not have an offer of Skilled Employment and you are claiming Bonus points for a qualification or work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage (LTSSL) you will need to provide a full NZQA assessment of your qualification."

My query is - is the RAF a recognized industry body? my career was not really an apprenticeship!

so do I have to have my qualifications assessed by NZQA?

I do not have a job offer so again do I need to have my quals assessed? (para 2 above)

OR

as I do not have my ITA yet when I receive it will they tell me what they want?

I am just mindfull that assessment of quals can take a while.

Sorry this is so long but could anyone guide me in the right direction

Many thanks in advance

Niki

Re: ITA Query

Niki
When I got my ITA it asked for all the relevant documentation. I am a nurse and it asked for evidence of registration with the nursing council in NZ and proof of my qualifications. I think, and this is my understanding of it...someone may come along and correct me...,that it looks like you will need to provide NZQA evidence and therefore need to get your quals assessed.Hope this helps a bit
