ITA & Birth Cert

Hi All,

Got my ITA ready for submission and on checking our documents, we discovered we only had a copy of my partners Birth Certs Full Birth Cert. We asked her parents who faxed it to us, but they cant find the orginal as they have moved house. We are in NZ, birth cert is in UK, and getting a replacment is not that easy. So my question is,

Do you think Immigiration would accept the copy (which we cant get certifited due to the fact, we dont have the orginal) if we submit it with the original or certifited copy of the abriviated birth cert, which we have)

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Scottish N

Hi there,

I had the same problem and I thought that it was going to be a nightmare to obtain a full birth certificate whilst in NZ. A search on Google came up trumps and I ordered on line.

I think this site can help you: www.gro.gov.uk

Some sites are run by private companies and charge a higher fee.

Cheers,

Sid

Re: ITA & Birth Cert

You will need a copy of the full birth certificate from the GRO. Sid has given you the link. If you take a photocopy of that once you have it , you will need to have it certified.

It's much cheaper to contact the registry office, where the birth was first registered, direct.Just Google and get the address and contact details. I did mine and OH's and it was incredibly quick and cost £7 each. Make sure it's the full version.Good luck
