Immigration & Trucking jobs

hello everyone
Just wondering is there any trucking companies that be willing to take on UK drivers in new zealand.
Also my wife's mother was a resident in new zealand but she passed away last year :( would this help in anyway towards immigration for residence as my wife had family over there....

Truck drivers are in immediate shortage in NZ. That means a company is free to offer you, as an overseas person, a job without having to show that a New Zealander could fill that position.

Unfortunately truck driving is not seen as skilled here in New Zealand so you won't be able to use that to gain residency under the Skilled Migrant Category.

If you can get a job as a tanker driver perhaps with an accredited employer earning $55K then you may be offered a Work to Residence visa to help you towards NZ residency.

You say your MIL was an NZ resident . What immediate family does your wife have here in NZ & what immediate family does she have resident in other countries.

Sorry to read that. Always a sad and stressful time.

No. I'm afraid not.

You might like to start a new topic/thread in the main NZ forum asking about trucking work & companies.

Does your wife have a skilled occupation? Not being nosey. Just trying to look at what possible options you may have.
