Martybabe, really sorry to hear of your troubles. You must be living in complete hell. All I can think of is to go down to your local MPs office and plead your case with them and put in a formal complaint to NZIS.

I hope it all gets worked out soon for you.

No mate everything was submitted with plenty of time but for some reason, INZ have dragged their feet so ridiculously slowly, we've all been left in limbo.

I should make it clear that they haven't said we can or can't stop , they've just refused to say anything as we sailed past the cut off date, it should have been sorted one way or another waaay before then but even as I write they still have not responded to our requests for a decision which should have been made months ago. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Hi Martybabe! God what an nightmare, we had problems with all sorts of 'jobs worth attitude' and delays and ill advise from immigration consultant ! so my heart goes out to you all.... it sounds ridiculous.. my and my OH are also senior nurses .. and the frustration etc.. must be unbearable, I think you need to definitely get some independent help (maybe specialist immi lawyer ? ) i TRUELY HOPE IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU ALL!
Berni

Thanks Bernie, sorry for your troubles but in a bizarre way, it's kind of comforting to realise we're not the only ones that are suffering/ have suffered at the hands of the omnipotent Immigration Dept. You begin to wonder if it's personal vendetta sometimes eh. The woes you describe are exactly what we are faced with but if I'm honest, I think you put it a little better :)

It must be such agony for you. sorry I can't help - but I want to send you all my very best wishes - I hope and pray you are sorted out really soon ! :fingerscrossed:

Your dead right mudblood21, it is wrong but this is the kind of stuff they've fed us with all along, I swear most of them up there don't have a clue themselves as to what the rules and regs are. Thanks for the crossed fingers, we need em.

Thanks Team embo, we have thought of that but you get to a place where you worry about sending them aggro with an official seal on it when their fingers are debating over whether or not to sign the page that would grant you PR. I'm not saying a formal complaint would prejudice their decision as to whether we can stay but I sure as heck wouldn't put it past them.

In any event, after the decision has been made, in our favour, or not, you can rest assured there will be a full frontal assault/complaint/campaign from our MP, my wifes employers, myself and any one else I can get to listen to the shabby way we have been treated.

Cheers to you all for your kind thoughts and support. Mart

Totally agree with TeamEmbo: get in touch with your MP. The Immigration service si widely acknowledged as being broken, in some circles, and MPs support can tip the balance. Similar high level support got us, and some others I know of, here.

What a nightmare!

For what it's worth, my advice would be to talk to an immigration lawyer. It will cost something, but I think without a lawyer you could be losing more money due to lost income if you can't work. Since you've played by the book and it's NZIS that's done the mistakes, it might well be that a well-worded letter from an immy lawyer is enough to kick-start the NZIS process again. It also sends a strong message to NZIS that you KNOW that THEY have caused the whole mess, and that you're prepared to fight them. Contacting you MP wouldn't hurt either -they probably won't be able to help you on the legal side, but can be a moral support and can influence things in the long run.

Courage!

Thanks Mgee. I'm moving house over the next couple of weeks because of all the immigration stuff but a side benefit is, it will release some funds with which we can get a immigration Lawyer on board :fingerscrossed: Plus I've just won $27 on the lottery, enough for one phone call to INZ, 15 minutes on hold and five minutes of fabricated nonsense from a 'special adviser':D

Please don't be put off by my situation, it's a great country with great people, it just so happens I'm having a few issues with immigration here, no reason to believe you will have the same problems and despite the poor treatment by INZ, it's still worth enduring all the crap if it means my Family get to stay here. I think what I'm saying is, I regard this Country so highly that it's worth the fight Otherwise I would have told them by now to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Come down Mate, you won't regret it.:)

I really feel for you all!! You show such commitment and compassion for a country that, at the moment, is not showing it back. Although I can offer you not alot of good advice, all our :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed: for you. :)
