Default Immigration and the lists

If your profession is not on the NZ Gov list LTSSL or the ISSL, can you forget about applying for residency in NZ?

I am a managment accountant in training (will hopefully finish when we leave our current country, Kenya) and have 10+ company management experience. My wife is a primary school teacher for Latin and History with no QTS, but hopefully will have when we leave.

But I guess you have to fulfil the criteria when you apply, not when you (possibly) get the residency.

If you intend to emigrate to New Zealand under the skilled migrant category, then it's about the points you can muster.

Please check out the POINTS INDICATOR - click on the link.

Just because the occupation isn't in shortage doesn't mean that you cannot apply for PR - permanent residency.

You need to check that your overseas qualifications are recognised for NZIs purposes.

Teachers & Accountants need NZ registration.

Link for registration authorities.

An NZ job offer always helps with any application.
