Immigration - incompetant ?
 

been living in NZ for over a year on a work visa and am aplying for PR. just wanted to know if anyone out there has experienced the stuff we've been going through.....

Jan 09 - missed 1st PR application date due to our imm.agency (based in Hamilton - definitely NOT recommended) & employer not getting their act together in time with paperwork so uk medicals & police checks expired.

Jan - June 09 - had to resubmit ALL our paperwork, get new NZ medicals done, redo UK police checks. NZ meds showed partner had a heart murmer - news to us.....as had been clear in the UK in Sept 08. Imm. wanted heart specialist reports, diabetes tests, liver tests etc. Did all this, ($600 +) and submited PR in June 09

Aug 09 - our imm agency told us medicals all ok, should get PR soon

End Sept - imm agency told us our CO in UK had been replaced - no explanation given. new senior CO took over.

End Oct 09 - senior CO re looking at our case. Medicals NOT cleared, never were, (someone has been lying to someone.....hmmm) medicals have now got to go to MA. MA now wants heart specialist report redone, and all blood tests redone because they are not current, just because some incompetent in immigration has not done his job properly and the tests/reports have been sat in our file since June 09 and he hasn't done anything with them...so more cost for us, more time, even more delays, and more stress - arrrrrhhhhhhhhhh

Have completely lost faith in our imm agency, (they said yesterday they though it was strange that our medicals had been cleared so quickly in Aug, but apparently didn't bother to check out why or look into it and this is a registered, (professional?) company - NOT GOOD.

feeling VERY frustrated, sick of the whole thing, stressed out and ready to give the whole thing up and go home. beginning to wonder if all of this is worth it.:banghead::cry_smile:

anyone got any suggestions please ?

Firstly. Commiserations for all the stress and muddle that is your PR application. UI t must be very upsetting and frustrating. Of course, as you say, there is no way to know who or what has caused un-necessary delays.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received from your Immy consultant, then you should make a complaint to the IAA.

have no fear... you are not alone. Imm NZ like to make life difficult. I am also stressed out about a similar scenario:thumbdown:
