Question Immigration Advice Please !!!!

Hi
my wife has an application in place for a specialist health post in Auckland Hospital. She had applied previously and had interview over the phone. She was told she was unsuccessful as she was not registered with NZ health board. A week later she received a call asking if she would re apply and lodge an application to NZ health to become registered to practice. The post closes this weekend and hopefully the outcome will be positive. as the post is one of NZ s long term skills shortage professions what route would you advise as, if offered, the post would commence after a three month notice period here in the uk is up.
There are three of us who would want to travel and be together. My wife, our 16 year old son and myself.(oh and not to forget Alfie, our collie cross)
On reading some info offered I can see an EOI could be lodged here in uk but would a work visa be the most secure way of ensuring we can move over in the timeframe? Would a work visa enable us all as a family stream to migrate?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Should I use a migration assistance company ?

Also I would wish to work in NZ too, I Have an Accounting Technician Diploma (AAT) acquired in 2011 and am a member of the professional body. Has anyone out there had this qualification recognised in NZ?

Regards

Ian

Hi
It is possible that you would be granted residency in 3m with you having a job offer in place but it may be too short a time, only time will tell. Do you have any peculiarities such as criminal convictions or health problems as these can slow down the process?. You can apply for a work visa at the same time as sending in an EOI. One option could be to submit the EOI and apply for a work visa nearer the time if things were taking longer than expected. If you want peace of mind then apply sooner, it would be one less thing to worry about.
Has your wife got registration yet as this will be necessary for the application.

For a work visa: you and your children would apply for separate work or study visas on the back of your wife's visa.
They would be included on the EOI.

You need to have a look at what is needed for the EOI and work visas and start to get all the evidence gathered together. This includes evidence of relationship, work experience, qualifications etc. Filling in an EOI is a good way to get an idea of what you'll need, you register and then save it for later.

Immigration advisors are very expensive for what they do and I think most of us on here would recommend doing it yourself [unless you have a complicated application]. It is fairly easy but just takes time and planning. We'll answer any questions that may come up. Save the cash for the move!

Can't help with the accounting questions, sorry.

I am myself an accounting technician (level 3) and we are moving to NZ in May (Hopefully), I am not sure if the British version is directly equal to NZ accounting technicians, but this page may help:

I have emailed them and asked the question, I will let you know the reply.
