That all depends on your county of origin and the occupation you apply with.

Hi Bevs,

Thanks for your reply.

I already send my documents for NZQA Assessment as on 18th of April, bcoz I did BCA (Bachelor of computer Application ) from Punjab technical university and I asked English communication letter from same university which I sent with NZQA Assessment. I have given IELTS test in 2010 and I scored 6 band and which is not sufficient and My husband scored 6.5 Band. Right now I am in Denmark and its bit difficult for me to give the test again.

Bevs, As you said, That all depends on your county of origin and the occupation you apply with.

Can you give me information regarding this. I am from India, and I have completed my education Punjab and worked for 5 years as Oracle Developer.
Thanks for ur help, I need more suggestion and will ask later.

Thanks,
Guri

You will need to show IELTS 6.5 as you know. Your partner has a 6.5 so is OK.

Dear Simonsi,

I have read from the link that:-

English language requirements

To apply under the Skilled Migrant Category, you will need to meet a minimum standard of English language ability. Both the principal applicant and any non-principal applicants aged 16 and over (partner and dependent children) have to meet our requirements.

Principal applicants

The principal applicant is the person making the application. If you are the principal applicant, you must meet our standards of English. The minimum standard of English is an International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) certificate, with a band score of 6.5 or better in the General or Academic modules. This certificate must be less than two years old.

However, we may consider one of the following as evidence if you can show us that you:

have a recognized qualification from a course taught entirely in English,
have ongoing skilled employment in New Zealand, and have been in the job for at least the last 12 months, or
have other evidence proof of competency in English. We will consider a number of factors.

So based on this information, I have sent the English language letter from my university.....

Please guide me right direction.

Thanks a lot..

You seem to be following the right direction, you will have to wait and see what they say.
