IELTS
We are applying for a skilled migrant residence visa (my husband is the main applicant). Can anyone confirm please what proof he and I need of English language ability. I read it one way of us having to sit an IELTS (he sat one a few years back and scored well). But in another part, it just said proof of minimum standard of English. Will an English Language O' Level (remember them?) certificate and the fact that I carry out admin/secretarial work for my own business do? Please say yes to the latter as I don't fancy sitting an exam! Cheers

Re: IELTS
if English is your first language I do not believe you have to take it unless your profession requires you to.

Thank you so much for that - that is the best news I've had all day. And over £300 saved for us then!
