How long to use WHV?
 

Hi,

first off apologies if this has been threaded before, but I couldn't find the same question.

My query is this; my girlfriend turns 31 in December so we're aware she needs to apply for her WHV before then. What we're not sure of, is if she was for example granted the visa in November 2009, does she then have till November 2010 to enter New Zealand? And then once you get there do you then have 12 months of use from the point you arrive on NZ soil?

Specifically we're intending on getting the visa in November 2009, and then entering the country in August 2010, but would then want to work till August 2011. Feasible?

Help on this would be greatly appreciated.
