How long until passport is returned?
 

Hi,
About to send off all the completed forms, medical etc tomorrow (woo hoo :D ) to go in via the partner route. I have just one concern of how long NZIS need to keep documents like my UK passport?

For anyone that is further along the NZ path than me, how long did it take for your passport and other docs such as birth certificate to be returned? If I suddenly needed the passport (i.e. I occasionally travel for work) could I get it back fairly quickly,

Get a certifed copy of your passport made and send it instead.

NZIS will then request your real pasport when they put those lovely blue stickers in at the end of the process, so you should get them back pretty quick.

Ask them to send the passports back as soon as possible , they returned mine from London within days !
