Default How long until next step?

Hi

Our EOI was selected on 7th October and I check our status (with hope) every day, but I'm sure the information has changed when you click on selected. I think when I first looked it said it would take between 2-4 weeks for them to carry out checks, but now no time limits are mentioned. Does anyone know why? Alternatively what is people's experience regarding the current time taken for selected EOI to change to successful? We had 135 points, no job offer.

Thanks

I don't believe anything changed in terms of status on the website for me after my EOI was selected. The next thing that happened was the ITA pack arriving about a month later. The ITA status is tracked in a separate section and my EOI status remains "Application Received" with the selection date.

You should relax a bit and try to just forget about the bits of the process that you can't affect. Checking the website every day won't make them process your application any faster.

Thanks for your replies. Are you sure checking the website daily wont make the ITA come any quicker? Being a control freak relaxing isn't something that comes ease! However I'll try.

Another question - Does the ITA arrive by post or electronically?

Thanks again.

I'm sure that your online status changes to "successful" when you
are approved for ITA.
Your ITA then comes by snail mail and is basically
a copy of your EOI with extra questions and forms
Good luck

Welcome. As has already mentioned, once the initial checks on your EOI are done and NZIS are satisfied with what you are claiming, then your status will change to successful and NZIS will send you half a tree via Special Delivery so that you can then begin the process of proving everything that you claimed in your EOI!

I'm afraid that this is only the beginning of several waits, but you do learn to become patient!! You could use the time to get quotes for medicals etc., start contacting previous employers if you need letters to prove work experience etc. and so on.

Best of luck with your journey and fingers crossed that it progresses smoothly and in a timely fashion.

I think it takes longer if you don't have a job offer than if you do, of course someone could please correct me if I'm wrong

Though this won't be the case with yours some branches seem to take longer than others, I've read the Beijing branch is quite slow and so is the Bangkok branch (ours is going through the Bangkok branch).

As I said above, my EOI status hasn't changed from "Application Received". I've had my ITA, sent it back and had the interview already.

The interview that NZIS give you if you apply for a skilled migrant visa without a job offer.

Another question - Does the ITA arrive by post or electronically?

Thanks again.

Unhappy Re: How long until next step?

Help! I still check the website every day, I have really tried not to honest! I looked at the London Branch tips on processing times and that states that EOI checks will be completed within one month of selection, if no job offer. Has anyone who was selected on 7th October received their ITA yet. I'm starting to get worried!

Frankie Say RELAX!!

It will be with you soon enough and then you can get on with cursing the flippin' thing for being soooooooooo expensive and landing on your doormat just prior to Christmas!!!!

P.S Don't forget we've got the postal strike on and whilst Special Delivery shouldn't in theory be affected, my local PO were not guaranteeing anything to arrive the next day if it wasn't posted by 11am on Saturday.
