How can I move back to New Zealand
Afternoon guys.
I have just returned to the UK (sigh) from New Zealand after spending a year out there on a Working Holiday Visa. After about 2 days back home in the UK I realised how much I hate it here and that NZ feels like home. I am after any information on the best way I can get back out there permanently and legally work. I work in architecture but don't have a degree (which is what I assumed would be required) Any Advise regarding sponsorship etc would be hugely appreciated Many thanks guys |

Hi Dave,
I'm not sure on how easy it is to get sponsorship out there, but I know NZ has a Immigration Essential Skills Shortage List which is updated a couple of times a year...may be worth looking at the list to see if your chosen profession is needed over there...if it is then it may be easier to find a sponsor! Just an idea! Lloyd |

Otherwise you will need to get a work permit, which is available for 1-3 year lengths (2 year the most common). This means you will need to have a job offer in what is considered a "skilled profession" http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=810757 Is a list of jobs that are considered "skilled", I note the there are two entries for architecture 312199 Architectural, Building and Surveying Technicians nec 312111 Architectural Draftsperson So score a job that fits this description, then you have a good chance. If you are successful and have been working in the country for a couple of years, then the way should be open to apply for residency (depending on your point score). Either that or you can shack up with a Kiwi for a year. |

It's not fair on those looking for help & not fair on those that can provide a real bit of guidance from experience. I thank you. . |
