High Cholesterol

Hi All,
Just a quick query, does anyone know if a raised cholesterol reading (6.5) is
likely to cause a problem on our ITA? OH is worrying although his BMI was only 31.
Thanks in advance for any replies

Re: High Cholesterol

Hello

I would think that as your OH is now aware of his cholesterol reading then it might not be a bad idea for him to visit his GP and have a chat to the doc re maybe being put on Statins to lower his reading - also try and loose a bit of weight (if his BMI is 31 then maybe loose a few pounds). Then, if his medical is referred to a Medical Officer re cholesterol reading, then at least hubby has started trying to lower the reading himself. They may well ask him to have it checked again in a few months to see if it is lower.

Of course, they may not refer to Medical Officer but at least you would be buying some time if they do - and will have started the ball rolling.

I found out quite by chance that I had something wrong with my Liver Function Test reading about a year before I applied for a visa and I asked to be referred to a Liver Unit where I had investigations and it turned out to be a slightly fatty liver and nothing sinister but at least I had this all important letter now from my Consultant to hand in with my visa application.

Good luck. :fingerscrossed:

Hi

Yes it will i had my medical results back and mine was 6.6 with my bmi at 29 i am having to visit my gp tonight in reguards to this as our case officer wants me to have another fasting blood test done and be notified of what the gp`s plan of action will be in reguard to this:frown: Am hoping this is not going to effect our ita`s too much as they have stated that if it needs further investigation after they recieve the results from my gp i will have to be assessed by medical assers:frown:

Hope this helps you.
