Hi, im new to site

Hi, im new to this so bear with me. Im 30 years old and im married with 2 kids. My dream is to live in New Zealand, been there once many years ago. What im not sure of is if its even achievable for me as i currently work within a local authority council in homelessness. I only have an HNC and SVQ 3 in social care. Is my dreamway off??? Do i need a minimum of a diploma or need to have degree etc, thanking anyone who can help, Graham

Re: Hi, im new to site

I read from your other post that you are looking to Auckland as that is where you have friends and that your wife is a nurse.

Are you asking if your family could qualify to emigrate to New Zealand as skilled migrants please? Or are you asking if you would be able to find work within your field should you arrive to settle in Auckland. New Zealand?

Please have a look at the official NZIS POINTS INDICATOR. click the link.

If your wife is a fully qualified nurse, then you could have her as the main applicant under the Skilled Migrant Category.
She would need to become NZ registered and have her UK quals assessed by the NZ Nursing Council

She could also possibly pursue a job offer from the UK , to help with your application & for the security of a wage coming in at onset. The best thing would be to start a new thread in the main NZ forum asking about nursing in NZ. There are several nurses in our wee cyber community.

For yourself. Do you mean that you are a care worker ? Please have a look at this list of skilled occupations and also search the ANZSCO listings and see which occupation best matches your work .

hi bevs. At first we were not sure who to base application on but now realise that it would have to be my wife as a nurse, i posted a comment there yesterday and have lots of replies, this site is FANTASTIC!! Thanks for your reply.

No problem , though you really could do with asking about NZ nursing registration & where to look for job offers.
