Default HGV advice

Hi all,

I have decided to go for my HGV license here in the UK and do my 2 years to gain the relevant experience, however a dilemma I face is the fact that I left school without gaining any GCSE because I was offered employment and never thought at that young age that I would look back at not doing them (doh!) and I also have a minor criminal conviction, however the the criminal conviction will be 10 years old (which I believe becomes a spent conviction after 10 years??) very soon.

I know driving isn't on the skills shortage list but I have seen many drivers are successfully making them move due to shortages of drivers out there.

So any advice would be mucho appreciated....

Please be gentle.
