Default Help!! Accountant and midwife trying to emmigrate

Hi I introduced myself a while back and I am desperate for some advice. I am a newly qualified midwife and my husband is an accountant. We have started the immigration process and are already using an agency. I know that I will be able to find work but it is more important for my husband to get a job offer as he is the bread winner and we need his income to support us all. He can't give up his job with the hope of finding one in NZ.

However the agency say that he won't get a job offer unless he has a visa but he can't get a visa until i get a job offer. What if he can't find a job in the area that i get a job offer???? ouch my head hurts just thinking about it!!!!

Has anyone got any advice on what we should do.

Tonia

Hi
Don't think I'll be able to help much.
Has he looked into finding a job in NZ at all? Maybe he could try approaching some employers? I have heard from others on here that employers in general do prefer you to be over there just to show how serious you are about the move though.
Alternatively you could try for jobs in the larger cities which would give him more options as far as jobs are concerned.
Would you have enough points to apply for PR without a job offer? Are midwives on the longterm skill shortage list, if they are and you have over 100pts then you would have a good chance of being selected without a job offer anyway. The process would take longer but would give you more time to look for jobs and hopefully be able to start applying later on with PR already in place? You do not need a job offer to be granted PR, no job offer does not mean you will automatically be given WTR instead.
Hopefully someone else may be able to help more
