Is it possible to fail a medical due to being a diabetic?

Im not so sure you will fail your medical however Immigration will want to know everything about the diabetes to decide how much you will cost NZ. Its going to depend on what treatment your on etc i would think.

Hi Spammy

Not sure you would fail, but NZIS would be interested in any complications that you may have from the condition. Also what the treatment is.

Just be open and honest and supply as much info as you can lay your hands on.

I suppose anything is possible technically...but, if it helps, one of my daughters is diabetic and we had no problems with her medical whatsoever...

Just a suggestion, but we asked her hospital consultant to supply us with a covering letter to take with us when we went for our medicals stating her latest HbA1c etc and confirming the fact that her condition is well controlled etc and the panel doctor was happy with that...

Hope this helps to allay any worries...
