Purely academic question regarding my status in NZ:

I was a holder of a Permanent Resident Visa, granted after being on a WTR visa for 2 years.
Number of entries: Multiple
Expiry date travel: Indefinite
Visa expiry: Indefinite
Conditions: Please apply for transfer of this visa when the passport expires.

I left New Zealand in 2011 and was back once to attend a wedding in 2013. I have no further ties to NZ (closed my bank accounts, I have Kiwisaver, but have not made any contributions since leaving)

I have assumed that my PR status has expired due to prolonged absence, is that the case?

If you don't have travel conditions and you don't have an expiry date on your visa I'd say you still have residency. The only way to be certain though would be to ring INZ and check with them.

No. Permanent means permanent until the day NZ govt and immigration alter the policies for permanent to mean expire after x amnt of years.

However, if you enter it may be questioned at border control as to why you have been absent for so long.
