Grandparent and Parent Visitors Visa
"From that point, applications will be open for the Grandparent and Parent Visitor Visa which allows for a three-year multiple entry visa and a stay of up to 6 months per visit. More information about this visa is available on Immigration New Zealand’s website:
https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...y-visitor-visa."
Picked this up from the thread about Parent category.
It allows up to 6 month visits, not more than 18 months in 3 years.
For a couple (only one applies) it costs $281 plus extras such as a chest X-ray.
It can take 5 months to process.
At first glance this seems to enable the old style 6 on 6 off visits, which (if I understand correctly) are no longer allowed on a normal tourist visa, where you can visit for 9 months in any 18.
I'm still trying to get my head around this, but the requirements for the visa are quite strict.
Wondering if anyone is going down this route, and if I have understood the benefits.
