Expression of Interest (EOI's)

Does each individual EOI have to relate to 1 specific job offer/skilled work?

Can you fill in a normal EOI, but then claim extra points for qualifications that aren't totally related?

For example -

Can you claim for points for having a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage, even if it doesn't relate to the job/skilled work that the EOI is for?

Re: Expression of Interest (EOI's)

Don't take my word on this but I think that you can.

You will still need to have the qualification that is relevant to your job offer on your EOI and assessed.
If you take off the bonus points awarded for the qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage then you should still have enough points to be selected [from your previous post]. Try it, nothing to lose!

SM7.10.5 Relevance of qualification(s) to employment
Qualifications are relevant to employment if:
a. the major subject area of the principal applicant's recognised qualification is directly applicable to the employment; and/or
b. an immigration officer is satisfied that the qualification was a key factor in the employer's decision to employ the principal applicant in that position.

Note: For the purposes of this provision, 'qualifications' must meet the requirements for recognition set out in SM14.5 (except where SM7.10.3 applies) but are not required to be the same qualification(s) that qualifies for points under the Qualifications part of these instructions
Obviously any qualifications that you are gaining points for will need to be on the List of Recognised Qualifications or assessed by NZQA

husband did as it was a recognised degree from a recognised university. Just got less points as it did not related to job or his career
