Essential Skills Visa, cost/application/timeline
Hi all,
Im in a bit of a quandary, i have a 1yr Bunac working holiday visa and have recently applied for a job and have a job offer. Unfortunately i made a bit of an error when applying and have to be in NZ by 21/04/2016. This is looking a little doubtful at the moment, so would like to know my options. Im an Analyst programmer Age 36 10+ yrs experience in the role and ICT/Banking related jobs. with a current job offer above the $55k threshold Qualifications: HND software engineering think i have 95/105 points, 155 with a job offer. Would it be possible to get an Essentials Skills Visa? Can i apply for this or does the employer? Whats the costs? Are there any better options? Im happy to work there for a few years and then see about residency. Any advice greatly welcome :) |
Re: Essential Skills Visa, cost/application/timeline
you could possibly start the job on the Bunac if you haven't already used the quota on it then apply for a more long term visa whilst working. you would need to make sure you have the relevant qualifications as stated on the immigration site. Skill Shortage List Checker – Immigration New Zealand
are you already in NZ? |
Re: Essential Skills Visa, cost/application/timeline
Hi thanks for the reply.
I'm afraid I'm still in the UK and I'm pushing it to reach nz before my Bunac entry window closes. I was thinking of working in nz for a year or so before I make a decision in wether to stay. Was wondering if the essential skills visa is the best fit. The employer is accredited. |
