EOI - Work experience - how to evidence?

Hi,
New to this site and very excited to be looking at moving to NZ :)

Having looked at the visa options, I believe we will qualify for a skilled migrant visa - my husband is a landscape gardener and I am company sec and PA with insurance experience.

As we have young children we will primarily be coming out on my husbands details - so that I can look for suitable work on a p/t basis once we have moved.

I understand that he will need a job offer to get us enough points and we are currently in the throws of contacting possible employers, with so far a positive response.

I'm just concerned about the work experience questions on the EOI - he has 10+ years experience in his field of work and we need to tick this box to get enough points, but it goes back so far and through several employers I am concerned about how we evidence this? Also, for the past 3 years he has been s/employed - still working for the same company as he did on PAYE but now just invoices them instead of getting PAYE wage.

We don't have payslips going back that far - how do we show his experience?

Also, does anyone know if I can get points for the fact that my skills are also on the skilled migrant list? even if I don't have a job offer yet?

Really appreciate any input

Welcome to BE!
It sounds like you've done plenty of research so far!

As you will be the non principal candidate, you can claim pts for a recognised qualification, you get 10 or 20 depending on the level. If your qualification is not on the list of recognised quals then you will need to get it assessed by NZQA in order to claim these pts. You cannot claim pts for work experience though.

Here are two threads on proving work experience when self employed:

Hope this helps

Thanks for your advice.

We've been looking at additional qualifications that will make up the additional points if needed.

A bit more work but we'll get there!

I'm not sure if that's what you meant but you can only claim points for one qualification each.
So that means 40-60 pts for him and 10-20 for you depending on level:)
