EOI SMC anyone been selected with 105 or 110 points?

Hi

My partner and I are looking to lodge an skilled migrant cat. EOI we thought we had 110 points but are now likely to have 105.

We are using my partners qualification in Graphic Design to base our application on and we also gain points for my parents and brothers being over in NZ, however I do not think I qualify to gain points for my qualification as I am a Nanny.

We are not caliming any points for job offers, areas of shortages etc.

Has anyone else been successful on 105 or 110 points without a job offer or gaining points in shortage areas?

Many thanks, Julie x

Hi Julie

We were selected straightaway with 110 points, although we did have points for either shortage area or future growth area, can't remember which.

I think you can still get selected, it might just mean that instead of getting selected straightaway you have to wait a bit.

Sorry I can't be of much help but I thought at least I could bring your message back to the top and hopefully someone who can help you better will see it and reply! :)

Good luck!

Hmmm, not sure how it works with points for qualifications to be honest...
Does he have any work experience as well as a qualification? That would give you extra points. Our situation is a little different - we're going on my husband's application, his degree is not on any of the important lists, but his work experience is, this is what we claimed points for, also without a job offer.

I guess you've tried the points indicator? (http://www.immigration.govt.nz/pointsindicator/). That's what we used before submitting and it seemed to work for us!

When I did a trail run for an EOI, this message pops up for the Future Growth Area . It would seem to indicate you need to have an NZ job offer or already be NZ employed in the FGA .
