Default EOI Questions

Hi all, so I'm completing our EOI now and have a few questions that perhaps someone might know the answer to?

A12. Taxation number? Social Security number? National ID number?

- Do any these apply to us as British citizens and currently living in NZ.

T3. Details of ALL family members?

- It states that all family members should be listed, but then says parents, siblings and children. However, in the drop down box of the persons relationship to you, there are options like Aunt, Cousin and Grandparent. Do these relatives also need to be included?

J6. Related to partners health.

- How far back are you meant to go with medical history? To childhood? Teenage years?

Thanks

A12. If you are in NZ now then just use your IRD number.
T3. You only need to provide details of all family members who are to go on the application...the people who are living with you in NZ.
J6. I think it is lifetime....i.e. if it asks whether your partner has ever had any issues with your heart or high blood pressure etc. it doesn't just mean in the last week/month/year...it means ever. You may not need to do this stuff though if you've previously done it for the visa you have now ?

Thanks very much for that.

Also, in the regards to the 'tasks include' for the ANZSCO group unit, which in our case is Environmental Scientists, how many of those bullet points must be matched the current job offer? The current information out there says 'substantially', but we're unable to match ALL the points. Does has anyone have previous experience with this?

My husbands job offer, although he had already started working for the company on a temp visa, had to be rewritten 3 times to satisfy the Case Officer, luckily the company was more than willing to help on that matter. The only thing you can do is send what you have and see what they say.

Wow! Ok, thank you for sharing that experience.

We're currently discussing with my partners company which ANZSCO occupation to select from the Unit Group, thankfully they have been nothing but understanding about the whole visa situation and process thus far! Lets hope their attitude remains positive!

We have considered consulting an immigration advisor too, because we're feeling more hesitant than before about our chances of a successful SMC application in light of this current ANZSCO problem. I know the only thing we can do really is to submit the application and keep everything crossed! But as so many of us know, the application isn't cheap, and we're nervous about spending a significant amount of money on the visa if there is a lower chance of success. But as you say MrsFychan, the only thing we can do is send it in and see what they say!

don't waste your money on an immigration agent, they can only collate the information you give them and be the middle man between you and the Immigration dept, so slow things up, give you information second hand and even misguide you (our experience before we submitted our application without them, and also I know a member on here got their first application refused despite using a agent because they had not been given all the information from immigration dept).

The only time members on here would suggest using an agent if it was a specialised agent for medical or refugee status. All applications can be done by yourself, you just have to read the guide book which comes with the application and if in doubt ask here or phone/email the CO.

Actually, the EOI I didn't include anyone on the family bit, it was the ITA bit they asked me to include immediate family (plus the schoolboy error of including my token paper birth certificate - not my full one).

Hi again...another question about ANZSCO!

We've decided upon the 234313 ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH SCIENTIST occupation. The Unit Group for this occupation is 2343 ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTISTS.

Skilled employment is defined as "...offer of employment or current employment substantially matches the description for that occupation (including core tasks) as set out in the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO)...".

My question is that for the 234313 ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH SCIENTIST occupation, is the description and core tasks the sentence underneath the job description, which is "Studies and develops policies and plans for the control of factors which may produce pollution, imbalance in or degradation of the environment". So, do we need to substantially match the job offer description and duties to this sentence?

Also, I have read that the job offer also needs to substantially match the Unit Group 'Task include' bullet points. Is this correct as those bullet points apply to all the occupations listed in the Unit Group, not just the occupation we're interested in.

yes your job offer needs to match as close to possibly the criteria for the occupation. MrF had to have his job offer rewritten 3 times until Case Offer was happy it fitted the requirements, and he was already working the job on a temp work visa. So best get as close as possible first time round

Ok, thank you.

So basically we need to ensure the job offer matches the occupation criteria and as many of the Unit Group tasks too?
