EOI + Points scoring
 

Hello,

Is there a breakdown of how to score points when logging an EOI application.
I have had good look on the main website, but unable to find anything.

At this stage I (we) are doing as much research as possible on the whole application stage, trying to find out if we would come up against any problems along the way.

Any help would be appreciated. I (we) would like to become involved in this forum\community and help where ever we can! It also seems a nice, decent place to share thoughts, ideas, opinions etc!

Have you tried the points indicator on NZIS website it will tell you how many points you will have

Yeah I came across that point indicator, and will go through that.
Was hoping there was a breakdown of industry, skills, occupation etc and the points gained from having such qualifications, experience etc.

Not to worry if there isn't, as I said we can sit down and go through this points indicator.

Sorry not too sure about that BEVS is probably the best one to ask

Hello and welcome to the forum, you've certainly come to the right place, sorry I can't be of much help as we're clueless about it all and are using an advisor (also because we're applying from Egypt) but people here are very helpful and knowledgeable. Good luck with your research!

Two years of full-time study in New Zealand towards a recognised qualification 5
Recognised basic New Zealand qualification (e.g. trade qualification, diploma, bachelors degree, bachelors degree with honours) 5
Recognised post-graduate New Zealand qualification (Masters or Doctorate) 10
Qualification in an identified future growth area 10
Qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage 10
Partner holds a recognised qualification 20

For the occupation to be seen as skilled , it will be on THIS NZIS LIST

To gain points because the occupation is in absolute shortage in NZ, it needs to be on the Long Term Shortage List
You can search the list HERE

Checking which degrees, quals and trade quals are recognised can be done from HERE

To gain points for the overseas qualification , it must be considered comparable to the level set by NZIS as seen on the Long Term Shortage List.

In some cases the overseas qualifications will need assessment by NZQA if not automatically recognised.

Some occupations require NZ occupational registration.
