EOI & medical question

Hi all

If I submit my EOI tomorrow for example, when will I need to submit my medicals? I haven't booked the medicals yet either.

I'm also going to be submitting work visa applications at the beginning of June.

Just trying to work out time scales as the medicals are only valid for 3 months so would hate for them to expire and have to do it all again (and pay for it again)

Thanks

Re: EOI & medical question

I'd personally wait until such time as you are asked to apply for your ITA

Re: EOI & medical question

MrsFychan, thanks for your answer, however, we are ALSO applying for work visas, so the medicals will need to be done before we submit the work visa.
Maybe if I submit the EOI today, we will get our ITA in a few weeks? I see your ITA took 2 months, which is a bit longer than I'd hoped. Worst case scenario is we have to redo medicals?

my OH didn't need a medical to gain his work visa, are you sure you require one for the work visa?

Re: EOI & medical question

Hi Mrs F, if the temp work visa is for >12 months, one needs a medical.
I'm hoping to get one valid for 2-5 years, although not sure what they will issue me with. Probably 2 years.
We will be getting PR next year sometime anyway, so it's not all that important that we get a super long WV.
So, can I just summarise what you've answered?
1) submit WV with medicals
2) submit EOI
3) wait for ITA
4) submit ITA and hope that it is within the time frame to use same medicals?
5) get PR next year sometime?

Do you know if there is an age limit for student visas? We would really like to be able to claim the 20 free hours of childcare for our daughter from Jan, but can't unless she's either got PR or is on a student visa. INZ have advised us to get visitors visa which mean she won't be eligible and we will be paying $1000pcm for childcare which will be quite a chunk if my OH isn't working yet.
Thanks
