EOI 135 points..Will we get selected???
 

Hi,

Me and my hubbie have roughly 130-135 points in EOI and want to apply under skilled migrant category .We both qualify in long term skill shortage list.We wish move to new zealand permanently.Also my sister lives in new zealand(her hubby is on a work permit)

Which is the best way to move to new zealand?

a.Searching for a job in a visitor visa,getting a job,then apply for PR

b.Apply for PR with current EOI points.(My hubbie is completing his masters next may,and we will get 140 points then)

We are both software engineers currently in India,bangalore.

Also we fall under the Long Term skill shortage list(LTSSL) as well as the Immediate Shortage skill list(ISSL)

ISSL IT Specialist (261112 or 261313 or 263299)

Kindly let us know our chances of getting a PR if we apply for EOI with 130-135 points.Also let us know which option mentioned above is better to settle down permanently in NZ.

As 140 points is an automatic selection from the pool , you may stand a good chace of being selected on 135 points without job offers. However, none of us , on this forum anyway, have a crystal ball, if you get what I mean, so we can;t tell you what your actual chances are.
Perhaps look over the last selections to get a feel for how the selections are going.


In my opinion and if it were me, then emigrating to New Zealand with PR already in the passports would be my personal preferred choice.

As you may be aware it is not strictly kosher to enter NZ on a visitors visa with the intent to look for a job offer, although many have done just this.

135 - We did.
Both with degress. Jo with a Masters.
Both skills shortage.
Mine on future growth area.
