Hey all, i'm a welsh boy hoping to move with my wife to NZ (YAY) we've completed our EOI and have realized that i will need some sort of registration to prove i am an electrician before i am able to get a job over in NZ (understandable) so i've tried to do some research about it however i cant find any up to date info regarding how the hell i get my provisional license to practice as an electrician. do i apply for it then send the copy of my city and guilds with my resume of work? or do i just send it off? and after that what do i do? Confused and a bit freaked out that i may have screwed up a bit not doing this prior to my EOI
sorry my head is spinning with the amount of words i've tried to make heads or tales of. Any help would be brilliant.

Hi, and welcome!

we are just going through this process, its a nightmare to be honest, and we had to trawl through page upon page to find any relevent info, your best bet is the EWRB, ( electrical workers registration board) and look at the overseas pages,

the process is easier if you are already employed by an electrical company here in the uk, as you have to get references, etc. if you are self employed ( as we are) then the whole process becomes much more difficult!
