Education & Work Experience relation

Hi All,

Apologize for this long post, couldn't find a way to make it shorter.

I am looking into skilled worker option for new zealand immigration and going through the EOI , I see this -

F15. Are you claiming points for a qualification in one of the areas of absolute skills shortage?
In the relevant document of long term skill shortage I see -
Ocupation Group: ICT, Electronics and Telecommunications
Occupation/Bonus point criteris: Software and Applications Programmers nec
Long Term Skill Shortage List/Bonus points Requirements: Bachleor degree specialising in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and
Technology AND a minimum of three year's relevant post-qualification work experience

I have a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication (from India) and 8+ years experience as Software Engineer.

In the bonus point criteria it is mentioned as Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Technology AND a minimum of three year's relevant post-qualification work experience

I am not sure if I can claim this bonus point - since Electronics & Telecommunication seems different than Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Technology. Also, not sure if Software Engineer is a relevant post-qualification work experience? Any insight on this is appreciated.

Thank you
Joshua

Re: Education & Work Experience relation

Do you need to get your degree assessed? It may aways be assessed as equivalent to something on the list. I can't really help much as I'm not in the IT industry so not up on the differences between each occupation. I did a search for telecommunications on the LTSSL and came up with various qualifications and categories.
Do any 'fit' better
Sorry, think you need someone who is more into IT!
