I have copied this from my post on another board for traffic -if that is ok.
Hi,
Apologies if this has already been asked before, i have had a browse through previous thread with no luck.
My partner has been offered a job in New Zealand and we plan to move out there early 2019. I am a registered adult nurse with a DipHE (level 5) and 40 credits at level 6. I qualified in 2012 and I am a sister (band 6).
From all I can find online, it appears that I do not qualify to work as a nurse over in NZ as i do not have a degree.
Can anyone shed any light onto this please. Is there a chance that I will be able to continue practicing as a nurse without topping up?
Also, while topping up is an option I have looked into, unfortunately the next course intake is 2019.
TIA

HI, this is the requirement for overseas, https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/...verseas-nurses. it states ; equivalent to a three-year bachelor degree programme in nursing and at level 7 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework

Hi there
current the nursing council on NZ takes each case individually. I too am a Dip HE (adult) trained nurse (uni of Surrey) and i got through alright. I sent every certificate and proof of learning that i had gained in the last five years and sent it to them. The other good thing is if your registered then for immigration purposes tou are classed as having a level 7 qualification. The only sticky wicket is if tou want to do further study you will have to go through the qualifications rigmarole again...best of luck any other info i can give just yell

Thank you.
Inked, that is reassuring. NZQA have e-mailed a link to a qualifications assessment, which is quite costly at over $700. Is this something you did or did you just apply for registration?

Nope you wont need it For immigration providing your registered with the NZ nursing council. The list of paperwork you need to send is exacting. Wjen they say academic transcript they also want tour individual marks
